چکیده

Glomus tumors are relatively uncommon neoplasms arising from modified smooth muscle cells that are normally found in specialized arteriovenous shunts in acral sites, especially the fingertips. This distribution reflects their function because the arteriovenous anastomoses of these areas, also known as the SucquetHoyer canals, are involved in temperature regulation. Sucquet-Hoyer canals are lined by endothelial cells, have several layers of glomus cells in their walls, and connect an afferent arteriole to an efferent venule.

Coexistence of Benign Brenner Tumor with Mucinous Cystadenoma in an Ovarian Mass

Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecologic malignancy. The surface epithelial tumor is the most common type of ovarian cancer. Mucinous tumors sometimes coexist with other surface epithelial tumors. Therefore, ma...

Unusual gastric tumors and tumor-like lesions: Radiological with pathological correlation and literature review

Although gastric tumors have overlapping radiologic appearances, some unusual tumors may present specific imaging features. Using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT), with water as a negative oral contrast agent and intravenous contrast medium, can provide critical information for the diagnosis of gastric diseases. In addition, MDCT can evaluate the involvement of the gastric wall and extr...

In patients with mucinous adenocarcino...

Glomus Tumors: Symptom Variations and Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Diagnosis

BACKGROUND The typical clinical symptoms of glomus tumors are pain, tenderness, and sensitivity to temperature change, and the presence of these clinical findings is helpful in diagnosis. However, the tumors often pose diagnostic difficulty because of variations in presentation and the nonspecific symptoms of glomus tumors. To the best of our knowledge, few studies have reported on the usefulne...
